What are your rates? We charge $1750 plus utilities and sales tax
for a typical non-holiday three night winter weekend. Inquire about mid- or full
week rates, summer rates, and early and late season rates, which are usually significantly less. A non-refundable deposit is required
to hold your date. If snow conditions make
the rental impossible, the rental may be moved into the next season.
Wow, that seems kind of expensive! Not really, the house easily
sleeps 20+ people, bringing the rate to less than $30/ night per person.
Cramped condos at the base rent for significantly more-- the
uncomfortable one-bedroom units rent for upwards of $200 a night and barely
sleep 4 people.
How big is this place, anyway? 5,000+ square feet, with 5
bedrooms, a sleeping loft, large kitchen, 3 full bathrooms, large living
room and den, game room & more. There's plenty of room for everyone!
How do I get there? In your car. Once you get
to the base, just jump on the Gold Hills chairlift and walk 200 feet to the
house. Bring boots!
How do I get my stuff up to the house? We will haul your gear and
food up to the house when you arrive and down to the base when you leave.
Can I have ??? people up there? The house is big, and large church groups
and youth organizations can
and do rent frequently.
What do I do the day of the rental? - Drive up to Crystal Mountain.
We will meet you at the base and haul your gear up to the house.
Walk over to the chairlift, ride it up for free, and walk 200 feet to the
front door of the house, and have a great weekend!
We will return at the end of your stay to transport your gear to the base.
What is there to do up there? Skiing, of course! Snowshoeing also
offers a great low impact alternative. Hills of varying steepness all
around the house offer sledding for every age group. Inside, satellite
TV, DVD players, CD stereo, pool table, and foosball provide plenty of
entertainment. The 8 person hot tub is great after a long day of
skiing, as is kicking back in front of a roaring fire in one of the two
large native rock fireplaces. The full kitchen and outdoor gas grill
make it easy and affordable to feed the whole crew (ski lodge food =
expensive!). Summer is a great time for an affordable group retreat or
family getaway. The area is very quiet in the warmer months and offers
excellent hiking including easy access to the famous Pacific Crest trail.
A hiker in decent shape can easily hike to the summit of Crystal Mountain
for stunning views of Mt. Rainier. For the more relaxed hiker, several
small trails near the house offer mountain views of waterfalls, creeks, and
the abandoned mine that gave Gold Hills its name. Crystal also
offers fantastic mountain biking on multiple trails near the house, with
some runs accessible by chairlift for BMX bikers.
